Oct 31 2022 Seed Bake!

 Seed Bake! Happy Halloween!!!  Seed Bake!!!  Ingredients  US Metric   1x 2x 3x ▢ ¾   cup   raw pumpkin seeds ▢ 1   tablespoon   olive oil ▢ ½   teaspoon   kosher salt ▢ ⅛   teaspoon   black pepper (optional) Equipment: *Bowl *Spoon & Wooden Spoon or Spatula *Silicone Mat *Silicone baster *4 sided baking tray Instructions  Preheat oven to 350°F (177ÂșC). In a small bowl combine pumpkin seeds, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Lightly grease a sheet pan with olive oil. (use silicone baster).  Evenly spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds on the sheet pan. Bake until the seeds are toasted and crunchy, about 12 to 15 minutes.  Stir every 5 minutes for even toasting, and check for doneness with each stir by tasting a seed for crunchiness. Transfer the roasted pumpkin seeds to a bowl to cool down.

TTOC - these handouts have been printed and are ready for you behind the main teacher desk. These are double sided. Students need a pencil? Recipe Remember:  We are prepping our crisp and putting it in the freezer to bake on Oct 17 2022.  Lab Group Assignments -  Head Chef Prep Cooks x 2 Dishwasher IMPORTANT!!!!  Only 1 group member to teacher station to pick up your lab group bin - with aprons, cloths, additional product items. One member of your group to get your recipe duo tang for reference. * Head Chef. Once your group has prepped your muffin tray (please call myself or TA over for PAM spray) PLEASE be very careful putting the tray in the oven. Make sure it is set flat. Make sure to set your timer for 8 min. Use oven mitts to turn your tray and then set another 8 min. Total cook time 16-18 min. Looking for golden brown edges.  Leave out cutting board for tray out of oven as well as tongs as well as cooling tray. One member of your group to get your recipe duo tang for reference. * Head Chef. At the end of the lab all group members to assist with final clean up, final sanitization of counters and sweeping of your area.  All used aprons and dishtowels to the front laundry hamper for washing.  Ask TA or myself for bleach for your dip water. Clean all surfaces with bleach/water spray at the very end of you cleaning process.
